KELAG Energie & Wärme GmbH, a leading energy and heating solution provider in Austria for over fifty years, is known for its innovative product portfolio and commitment to sustainable practices. KELAG faced multiple challenges, including monitoring oil tank capacity and oil consumption, establishing full control over oil tank refilling and fueling strategies without external oil management solutions, and managing inspection processes as well as equipment maintenance protocols in a centralized platform for efficient information distribution across the organization.
KELAG partnered with Novunex to implement their Industrial IoT solutions to address these challenges. The solutions allowed KELAG to effectively manage oil tank fueling, optimize costs by transferring real-time tank status information to the Novunex platform, and communicate it to relevant personnel. KELAG also used intelligent forecasts based on “degree days” to proactively plan fuel and refill strategies. The IoT Incident Management Module alerted the company when oil levels fell outside specified limits, preventing environmental damage from tank leaks. The Novunex eQMS Equipment Logbook Module facilitated the sharing of oil tank-related information across the organization.
Implementing Novunex’s Industrial IoT solutions led to significant improvements in KELAG’s oil tank management processes. The company reduced overall refilling costs, resulting in considerable financial savings. The intelligent alerting system enabled immediate response to potential issues, reducing environmental damage risks. By centralizing inspection processes and equipment maintenance protocols, KELAG improved communication and collaboration among their 243 team members, enhancing overall operational efficiency.
