SiCamore Semi, a US-based pure play foundry, specializes in advanced materials and power semiconductors. With a mission to deliver innovative power semiconductor solutions and superior services, SiCamore Semi focuses on the development of Silicon and wide bandgap technologies, including SiC, GaN, and Photonics. The company aims to be the leading power semiconductor facility in the Northwest region of the USA for advanced wide bandgap devices, fabrication, integration, and testing. They also manufacture high-quality components for various applications within the US military, intelligence, and other government agencies, as well as commercial markets in Electric Vehicles, Transportation, Telecommunications, Aerospace, and Healthcare infrastructure.
SiCamore Semi faced a significant challenge in managing the availability of hundreds of pieces of fab and facility equipment and measurement instruments in their semiconductor fab. SiCamore needed to track preventative maintenance, equipment downtime, calibration schedules, and equipment status for production availability. Manual management processes became time-consuming, leading to inefficiencies, potential downtime, and difficulty in keeping up with the growing demands of their industry.
To address this challenge, SiCamore Semi implemented the Novunex eQMS fully electronic equipment management system, designed to automatically determine the status of the equipment based on calibration, preventive maintenance, process verification, and qualification schedules and services performed. This new system streamlined the management process and ensured the equipment and maintenance team had accurate, up-to-date information about the facility’s assets.
The electronic equipment management system provided SiCamore Semi’s equipment and maintenance team with easy-to-use Kanban dashboards, sorted by predefined priorities. This enabled the team to quickly identify and address any issues, minimizing downtime and ensuring the facility operated smoothly. The use of the electronic equipment management system reduced the administrative workload for the maintenance team by over 32%, allowing them to focus on more critical tasks and further improving the overall efficiency of the facility.
The electronic equipment management system has been instrumental in improving the efficiency and reliability of our equipment management process. Our maintenance team can now focus on what matters most, ensuring our facility operates at peak performance to deliver the high-quality components our clients expect.
